Dyed to order alpaca yarn | Semi-solid | Rich colours
Dyed to order alpaca yarn | Semi-solid | Rich colours
Naturally hypoallergenic, this deliciously soft alpaca yarn originates from Peru. It combines incredible warmth (3 times warmer than sheep's wool) with a luxuriously soft texture.
The wool for this high-quality yarn is locally dyed on the east coast of Australia. With a choice of 4-ply or 8-ply weight, it is perfect for knitting garments, shawls or hats.
NOTE: Alpaca takes on dye differently than merino and the result will be slightly muted because the fibre is more soft and less lustrous.
This yarn is hand-dyed and one-of-a-kind. We dye it in small batches with acid dye for a long lasting, vibrant colour. Our technique creates a beautiful semi-solid colour, that knits up with an ever so slight marble effect. The colour variations are minimal between skeins, however I recommend alternating skeins to avoid unintended striping or pooling.
Please note: This yarn is made to order in our small-batch workshop on the east coast of Australia. We aim to dye and send all orders out within a week, but please allow up to 3 weeks from the day you place your order to the shipping date.
